L&M Welcomes Eric O’Neill

L&M is excited to announce that Eric O’Neill has joined the team! Eric is a biologist, environmental consultant, hydrographic surveyor, and expert SCUBA diver with 15 years of experience in the field. His passion for wetlands conservancy, knowledge of the Gulf and its waterways, and desire for sustainable fisheries has guided his career path from oyster NRDA assessments to artificial reef construction and conserving offshore habitats.  Eric has extensive experience throughout the Gulf Coast with government agencies including Texas Parks and Wildlife, Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries, and various private clients ranging from spill Responsible Parties to law firms and fishermen .

Hailing from Atlanta, Eric earned his degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder before moving to New Oreans in 2007.  Since then he has successfully and safely managed teams and piloted vessels while performing a wide range of duties including: hydrographic and bathymetric surveys using side-scan sonar, sub-bottom profiling, and magnetometry; biological sample collection and assessment; water quality analysis and data mapping using GIS instrumentation and software; and guiding of mobile oil drilling platforms.  He has also served as an expert witness in cases involving private fisheries and offshore industry.
